What is New in KEAM 2024?
KEAM will undergo a significant change this year as it will move from an offline paper-and-pencil exam to an online computer-based test. This is the biggest change that will take place this year in KEAM. It is anticipated that some changes will be made to the computer-based KEAM test in the near future.
- There will be a phased approach to the exam, as it will not be possible to set up over 1.2 lakh terminals all at once, as the exam will be conducted in phases.
- Each day of KEAM 2024 will be divided into two phases.
- There will be normalisation of scores for engineering and pharmacy exams.
- Candidates will be able to practice mock tests on entering the exam hall for 15 minutes before the actual exam starts.
- In the post-examination process, there will be a reduction in the time it takes for the release of the answer key and the declaration of results. It was previously required for the OMR sheets to be scanned over the course of three to four weeks until last year. It is true that once the exam becomes computer-based, the evaluation will become faster. Candidates will be able to access their scores in the shortest time possible after the exam is completed.
What is KEAM?
Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM) is a common admission procedure that applies to a wide range of UG courses offered at Kerala’s colleges that are accredited by the Central and State Regulatory Bodies, Universities, and the Government. In order to conduct KEAM, the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations is responsible.
A KEAM entrance test is conducted under KEAM, and there is a KEAM centralised counselling process which is conducted under KEAM. To be considered for admission to the UG engineering course and the pharmacy course, a candidate must register for KEAM, take the KEAM CBT test, and appear in the CAP exam.
It should be noted, however, that candidates who wish to apply for admission to all other courses – such as medicine, agriculture, forestry, veterinary, fisheries, and architecture – have to register with KEAM and appear in the KEAM centralised counselling process (CAP) for admission to colleges that accept scores from the applicable entrance exams (such as NEET and NATA).
