Aadhaar seeding status (Link Aadhar Card to Bank Account)

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) lets you easily check if your Aadhaar card is linked to your bank account. They use data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for this.

Here’s how you can check if your bank account and Aadhaar card are linked:

Using the UIDAI website:

  1. Go to https://resident.uidai.gov.in/bank-mapper.
  2. Enter your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID and the Security Code.
  3. Click on “Send OTP”. You’ll get a code on your mobile linked to your Aadhaar.
  4. Enter the code to see if your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account.

By phone:

  1. Dial 9999*1# from your Aadhaar-linked phone.
  2. Enter your Aadhaar number.
  3. Enter it again.
  4. You’ll see if your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account.

Using the mAadhaar app:

  1. Log in to the mAadhaar app.
  2. Go to ‘My Aadhaar’.
  3. Choose ‘Aadhaar-Bank Account Link Status’.
  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and security code.
  5. Click ‘Request OTP’, enter it, and verify to see your status.

To link your bank account with Aadhaar: If your Aadhaar isn’t linked yet, here’s how you can do it:

Online banking:

  1. Log in to your bank’s website.
  2. Choose ‘Update Aadhaar’.
  3. Enter your details and submit.

By SMS: Send a message to 567676 with your Aadhaar and account number. You’ll get a confirmation.

Through mobile banking:

  1. Use your bank’s app.
  2. Go to ‘Services’ and ‘View/Update Aadhaar’.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number and submit.

Visit your bank: Go to your bank branch and ask them to help you link your Aadhaar with your account.

Linking your Aadhaar card with your bank account can be useful for getting government benefits. But you don’t have to do it for regular banking services.
